A favorite wedding dress color that is still on the runway this year is RED. For many cultures, especially for the traditional Indian bridal attire and traditional lehenga, red is the bridal color of choice to celebrate the joy of a special day. Always popular, black and white colored wedding dresses are trademark of a chic yet trendy bride.

More conservative markets that have not been successful retailing colored wedding dresses may fare better with lavender hued bridal wear. When asked about the inspiration for summer/spring 2009 wedding dresses and her own bridal collection, world renowned bridal designer Reem Acra said, " Color, a lot of color. A lot of blues, greens and lavender - the link for it all was really the color. I have always believed in color. We keep trying to push the envelope, and this is part of my brand. Of course, white is a major part of the collection, but we can inject a few colors here and there."

Color can be easily infused in any bridal design whether used asa bold splash of color or the bride's signature color hinted in the embroidery on classic ivory or white wedding dresses. Lavender is a subtle yet classic color showCased on many runways worldwide. European brides favor blue or the ever dramatic scarlet red colored wedding dresses. A popular color for second time and more sophisticated brides is platinum silver or antique gold colored wedding dresses. Since color is such a personal choice, many retailers steer clear of stocking colored wedding dresses as it is increasingly difficult to estimate demand. Demand for colored wedding gowns also varies per geographic location. For example, the southern bride is typically more conservative and do not readily embrace colored dresses even the more subtle trendy hues like ice blue and blush pink wedding dresses. The more classic bridal styles and shades sell best in that market. While the northeastern bride is seeking more runway inspired wedding dresses and couture influenced bridal fashions in bolder colors and designs. However, other countries and cultures have long celebrated colored bridal attire and continue to make color selections available along with more traditional wedding dresses.

Not to worry, any bride can easily obtain her wedding dress in the color of her choice, despite limitations in selection or availability of colored wedding dresses in her area or region. Options to consider are purchasing a custom made wedding dress. Color accents or hues can be easily incorporated into any bridal style. This is especially nice, as most mass merchant's such as David's Bridal do not offer these specialty services. Also consider, browsing and shopping from the vast selection of wedding dresses online.
